Terms of Use

Last updated: 31 August 2026

Product Pilot is a free tool that uses AI to help you turn an idea into a build plan. You keep ownership of what you put in and what comes out. Because the plan is written by AI, treat it as a helpful draft to check — not as professional advice — and use it at your own discretion.

1. Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Julian Caspari, an individual based in Australia who operates Product Pilot (“Product Pilot”, “we”, “us”). By using the website or app you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

2. What Product Pilot is

Product Pilot guides you from a raw product idea to a structured, AI-ready build plan. It asks clarifying questions, proposes directions, and uses AI to generate artifacts and a final markdown document you can hand to an AI coding tool. It is a planning aid. It does not build software for you, and it does not guarantee any particular business outcome.

3. Eligibility

You must be able to form a legally binding agreement to use Product Pilot. If you use it on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you're authorised to accept these Terms for it.

4. Your content and ownership

“Your content” means the idea and information you enter and the artifacts and plan Product Pilot generates from it for you. As between you and us:

  • You own the input you provide.
  • You own the output generated for you, to the extent it can be owned, and you're free to use it for any lawful purpose, including building and commercialising your product.
  • You grant us only the limited permission needed to process your content to provide the service (including sending it to the AI provider as described in the Privacy Policy). We don't claim ownership of it.

You're responsible for your content, including having the right to submit it and to use the output. AI-generated output may be similar to output produced for other people, and we make no claim that it is unique or that it doesn't resemble existing material.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use Product Pilot for anything unlawful, harmful, or infringing;
  • submit other people's personal, confidential, or proprietary information without the right to do so;
  • attempt to break, overload, scrape, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorised access to the service or its underlying systems;
  • use the service to generate content that is unlawful, deceptive, or that violates the terms of the AI providers behind it;
  • misrepresent the AI-generated output as professional advice to others, or resell the service itself as your own.

6. AI output — important

Product Pilot's plans and artifacts are generated by AI language models. AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, out of date, or plainly wrong, and it can sound confident while being mistaken. It is provided for general guidance to help your own thinking.

It is not legal, financial, tax, business, or other professional advice. You should review, verify, and use your own judgement before relying on or acting on anything Product Pilot produces, and seek qualified professional advice where appropriate. Any decision you make based on the output is your responsibility.

7. Availability

Product Pilot is offered free of charge and on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We may change, suspend, limit, or discontinue any part of it at any time, and there may be interruptions. Because sessions are held in memory only, work you haven't saved may be lost — export or copy anything you want to keep.

8. Third-party services

Product Pilot relies on third-party providers, including the AI provider (Google's Gemini API, or OpenRouter as a backup) and hosting infrastructure. Your use of those parts is also subject to their terms, and we aren't responsible for their acts or omissions. Any third-party links or tools you reach from your plan are your responsibility to evaluate.

9. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law

Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy that you have under the ACL or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded. The disclaimers and limitations below apply only to the extent the law permits.

10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, and subject to section 9, we exclude all warranties, guarantees, and representations that aren't expressly set out here, including that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free or that any output will be accurate, complete, or fit for a particular purpose.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, and subject to section 9, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or business, arising out of or in connection with your use of Product Pilot or your reliance on its output. Where our liability cannot be excluded but can be limited, our liability is limited, at our option, to re-supplying the service or paying the cost of having it re-supplied. Because Product Pilot is provided free of charge, our total aggregate liability to you is otherwise limited to AUD $100.

11. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to be responsible for, and to reimburse us for, any loss or claim arising from your content or from your use of Product Pilot in breach of these Terms or of any law.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State or Territory of Australia in which the operator is ordinarily resident, and otherwise by the laws of the Commonwealth of Australia. You and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Australia.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms as the product evolves. When we do, we'll revise the “Last updated” date above. Continuing to use Product Pilot after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
